Canon C300 MKII
The camera that changed everything: evolved. The Canon EOS C300 Mark II is Canon’s improvement to the C300. Featuring a newly developed 8.85 megapixel Canon Super 35mm 16:9 CMOS censor that can now shoot 4K to CFast 2.0 with high-speed readout for reduced rolling shutter. Plus: It can shoot 4K RAW externally. Low light? No problem. With 15 stops of dynamic range and a maximum ISO of 102,400 the C300 MKII can see in the dark better than film. And with the new Canon Dual-Pixel CMOs Auto Focus the camera now features face detection and display of T-values, lens metadata, chromatic aberration correction, and a slew of other focus assist features. The Canon C300 MKII is a really, really big deal and will be available for rent at Picture This.
Ready Rig GS – Practical Weight Support for Gimbal Mounted Cameras
With a combination of iso-elastic and carbon fiber, the Ready Rig GS is lighter and simpler than it’s competitors. It’s also set up for the operator to make quick adjustments on the fly to increase or decrease the tension. Additionally, they have designed a quick release system for the straps that attach to the gimbal so you can click in and out of the setup easily. It’s pretty amazing for making operating a handheld gimbal more sustainable over a longer period. We were so impressed with it, we ordered one on the NAB show floor and expect it to arrive in about a month.

The Odyssey 7Q+ is an amazing monitor/recorder. With it’s extremely long list of compatible cameras and codecs, it’s seemingly endless amount of SDI in and outs, and rugged light weight magnesium case, there’s no project the 7Q+ cant handle. Swing by Picture This and try one out!
Freefly Systems- Movi and Mimic combo
Just before NAB 2015, Freefly announced their new dual operator control system called Mimic. This is a huge help in dual operator mode when one person is moving through the scene with the MōVI and a 2nd operator is framing the shot remotely. Instead of having to use a system of joysticks or wheels the Mimic pairs with the MōVI gimbal wirelessly and matches your movements for pan, tilt and roll for more natural moves. The zero delay response time is extremely impressive and it makes the dual operator mode a much more useful solution. Within a couple minutes, even a novice can get a good feel for it.
