Ready Rig GS – Practical Weight Support for Gimbal Mounted Cameras

Ready Rig

With a combination of iso-elastic and carbon fiber, the Ready Rig GS is lighter and simpler than it’s competitors.  It’s also set up for the operator to make quick adjustments on the fly to increase or decrease the tension.  Additionally, they have designed a quick release system for the straps that attach to the gimbal so you can click in and out of the setup easily. It’s pretty amazing for making operating a handheld gimbal more sustainable over a longer period.  We were so impressed with it, we ordered one on the NAB show floor and expect it to arrive in about a month.

Odyssey  7Q+:

Convergent Design, Odyssey 7Q

The Odyssey 7Q+ is an amazing monitor/recorder. With it’s extremely long list of compatible cameras and codecs, it’s seemingly endless amount of SDI in and outs, and rugged light weight magnesium case, there’s no project the 7Q+ cant handle. Swing by Picture This and try one out!

Freefly Systems- Movi and Mimic combo

MōVI Mimic Combo

Just before NAB 2015, Freefly announced their new dual operator control system called Mimic.  This is a huge help in dual operator mode when one person is moving through the scene with the MōVI and a 2nd operator is framing the shot remotely.  Instead of having to use a system of joysticks or wheels the Mimic pairs with the MōVI gimbal wirelessly and matches your movements for pan, tilt and roll for more natural moves.  The zero delay response time is extremely impressive and it makes the dual operator mode a much more useful solution.  Within a couple minutes, even a novice can get a good feel for it. Our Mimic should be arriving within a few weeks

How the Sony PVMA-170 17″ is Putting an End to Monitor Compromises

Production monitors often have compromises. Wether it be huge bulk, lack of certain inputs or an almost 1080p image. The list is staggering. The Sony PVMA-170 17 changes this notion as it’s the monitor that truly “gets it right.”

Firstly, the Sony PVMA-170 is OLED, which means it can offer a native resolution of 1080p with deep and inky “true blacks”. It’s built-in LUTs offer a client-friendly image that is truly stunning and it’s waveform monitors are ready for on-the-go calibration. On top of all this it has both HDMI and SDI inputs so it’ll work with almost anything.

Swing by Picture This and see this monitor in the flesh. The picture quality is truly breathtaking. You’ll instantly see why this is the most popular production monitor on the market.
